LEATHER WORKING GROUP – SILVER RATED<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Ever since October 2018, Meridiana Industria Conciaria is part of the international non-profit organization Leather Working Group, which is accountable for the largest leather sustainability program in the world.
\nThe aim of the Leather Working Group is to improve the environmental impact of the leather industry by evaluating and certifying producers. Additionally, it aims to engage members of the leather supply chain and equip them with the knowledge to make informed and sustainable choices in their businesses.<\/p>\n

In October 2020, Meridiana received the prestigious SILVER RATED certification, which certifies that the company pursues the goal of providing customers with the highest quality, fully traceable, safe and sustainable products, on a daily basis.
\nThis certification also confirms the high level organizational standards found in Meridiana.<\/p>\n

In December 2022 the SILVER rating was reconfirmed to us, despite the renewal audit being performed under the new and much stricter protocol 7.2.2. This underlines even more the constant commitment of the company.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row equal_height=”yes” content_placement=”middle” css_animation=”fadeIn” el_class=”mtop80 mbot80″][vc_column width=”1\/2″ offset=”vc_col-lg-5″][vc_single_image image=”317″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″ offset=”vc_col-lg-offset-1 vc_col-lg-6 vc_col-md-6″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

UNIC SOCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY – ICEC CERTIFICATE n\u00b0028<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]In September 2019 Meridiana obtained another important certification, the UNIC SOCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY by ICEC.
\nThe Code of Conduct and Social accountability, a tool made available by UNIC, is fundamental for the external spread of the principles that inspire the business activity. It takes the form of an official document in which the values \u200b\u200bof conduct and accountability of each company are defined.
\nBeing a socially accountable company not only means to fully satisfying the applicable legal obligations, but also going further: investing more in human capital, respecting the environment and in relationships with stakeholders, thus generating trust.
\nThe leather market is showing increasing interest in social accountability, requiring respect for it throughout the whole production chain.<\/p>\n

The Code incorporates the contents of SA8000, one of the most important international conventions (ILO) on the safeguard of workers’ rights, with particular regard to minors, as well as the main requirements regarding social, environmental and commercial ethics.
\nThe implementation of the contents of the Code also implies the involvement of suppliers and any subcontractors of the production chain, as far as they are concerned.<\/p>\n

The Code of Conduct and Social Accountability is also approved by the trade unions and, ever since 2013, it has been included in the tanning collective bargaining agreement.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row equal_height=”yes” content_placement=”middle” css_animation=”fadeIn” el_class=”mtop80 mbot80″][vc_column width=”1\/2″ offset=”vc_col-lg-5″][vc_single_image image=”2349″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″ offset=”vc_col-lg-offset-1 vc_col-lg-6 vc_col-md-6″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

ICEC TS410 –\u00a0RAW MATERIALS TRACEABILITY CERTIFICATION<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The search for market transparency also concerns the degree of control that tanneries have over their supplies, including knowledge of the countries of origin of the raw materials (hides), of the slaughterhouses and farms from which they come. At Meridiana we believe that this is very important and to this end we are committed to obtaining the ICEC TS410 certification which maps this traceability. The validation of the ethical claim “We recover our hides from the food chain” was also recognized to us. This claim, which is certified by ICEC according to the ICEC TS733 scheme pursuant to the UNI ISO\/TS 17033:2020 standard, integrates the traceability certification and underlines the important activity of recovering a by-product that characterizes the tanning industry, confirming the circularity of our activity.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row equal_height=”yes” content_placement=”middle” css_animation=”fadeIn” el_class=”mtop80 mbot80″][vc_column width=”1\/2″ offset=”vc_col-lg-5″][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″ offset=”vc_col-lg-offset-1 vc_col-lg-6 vc_col-md-6″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
